Wish List

Camp Courant publishes a wish list with items that are needed for our summer program or for special events.  View our current list, or call us with ideas you may have about items or services we can use to enhance our programs.

Administrative Volunteers

Administrative volunteers are needed year-round to assist with mailings, distribute materials, and make phone calls.  You can either come to us, or we'll bring the work to you!

Special Programs

Do you have a special talent or program you could share with a group of campers? Can you host a group of children at your workplace to educate them about future careers? We can arrange for groups of 15 or more children ages 5-12 to visit a workplace, create an arts project, or have a discussion at camp. These special programs help to make Camp Courant unique and we are always looking for new ideas.

Volunteer Readers

Volunteer readers are needed for our early learning program during the camp season.  Share your lunch hour with a child to read a story and talk.  This type of social interaction is a positive way to have a direct impact on a child.

Field Trip Chaperone

Another way to get directly involved in our program is to serve as a field trip chaperone.  We have field trips throughout the summer, as well as during the school year for our Junior Leadership group.  You can also request a particular age group, and we will provide you with a list of scheduled trips.

Camp Clean-Up

Camp clean-up days are scheduled each spring to prepare the camp for the summer.  If you can help paint, rake, or perform other odd jobs around the campsite, let us know!  We will put you on our mailing list for clean-up days.

Join a Committee

There are several committee work opportunities available.  The work of the committees helps camp run smoothly, raise funds and develop strategically.  If you have an interest in camp committee work, give us a call.

Special Events

Camp Courant holds two major special events during the year, and both need volunteers to make them successful.  If you have an interest in joining the planning committee, helping to solicit auction items, or helping out the day of the event, please call Eleanor Conrad Claffey at (860) 241-3750.  To learn more about the volunteer jobs needed, click here.
